Manchester United have agreed a fee with Newport County for highly-rated teenage defender Regan Poole.
This is according to the Daily Mail, who understand the 17-year-old will now undergo a medical before agreeing terms and signing a contract with the Red Devils.
Manchester United will pay up to £400,000 for the centre-back - based on future appearances - and have successfully fended off competition from Fulham for his signature.

Poole spent time with Manchester United on trial last September, according to BBC Sport, while he also trained with Liverpool earlier this year.
The teen defender has most recently been training with Louis van Gaal’s side and the fact he has been offered a permanent contract suggests he made a big impression on Manchester United’s youth coaches.
Poole could get opportunities this season
Poole is likely to join up with Manchester United’s Under-21 side, where he will have the opportunity to continue learning his trade alongside similarly talented young players.
The teenager will become United’s seventh summer signing - provided the £36 million deal for AS Monaco striker Anthony Martial is completed beforehand - but is unlikely to feature in Van Gaal’s first team for some time yet.
Poole, however, could be handed an opportunity to shine in either the Capital One Cup or FA Cup this season - particularly if Marcos Rojo leaves Old Trafford later today.
The Argentina international has been involved in a bust-up with Van Gaal, following his late arrival from the Copa America in Chile, and could yet leave the Red Devils after just one year with the Premier League giants.
