Manchester United have released an official statement regarding David de Gea's failed move to Real Madrid.
Via the club's official website, the Red Devils suggest they acted appropriately and efficiently throughout the negotiations, claiming that Real Madrid failed to upload the documents for the Spanish international in time before the close of the transfer window in Spain.
Ultimately, Manchester United seemingly sanctioned the deal for De Gea to move to the Bernabeu, which was set to see Real Madrid ace Keylor Navas join the Red Devils.

However, the deal fell through late on last night, meaning De Gea will now remain in Manchester for the remainder of the campaign.
With less than a year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, it now remains to be seen as to whether the club's hierarchy manage to persuade him to sign a new deal with the club.
Manchester United claim the following reasons reveal just why the David de Gea and Keylor Navas deals failed to go through last night:
The statement read: "Real Madrid didn’t upload David’s documents onto TMS in time (Manchester United did).
"Real Madrid didn’t upload David’s documents to the Spanish league in time, per reports it seems some 28 minutes after the deadline."
In fact, the statement went on to reveal that club is delighted De Gea will remain a Manchester United player for the foreseeable future.
United stated: "Manchester United acts appropriately and efficiently in its transfer dealings. The Club is delighted that its fan-favourite double Player of the Year, David de Gea, remains a Manchester United player."
There's no doubt about it, fans of the Red Devils will now be hoping to see the shot-stopper return to the first-team set up sooner rather than later.
At the end of the day, despite the transfer debacle, the Spanish ace is one of the best goalkeepers in world football, and will only help United as they go in search of success on both the domestic and European scene this season.
