The Spanish pop star, reportedly the driving force behind De Gea’s desire to return to Madrid, has been mocked on social media by Manchester United supporters after the goalkeeper failed to secure his dream move to the Bernabeu.
Garcia once described Manchester as being “uglier than the back of a fridge,” according to the Mirror, and now it’s believed she told friends after Monday night’s dramatic turn of events: “I’m very disappointed with what has happened.”

Garcia, who represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year, lives and works in Madrid and had expected to be joined in the Spanish capital by her boyfriend this month.
De Gea also expected the move to be finalised late in the transfer window and was reportedly “distraught” after the deal collapsed at the 11th hour.
United and Real Madrid at war
The fact is, Real Madrid had the whole of June, July and August to get the deal done, but opted to wait until the very last day of the transfer window in an attempt to seal the 24-year-old’s signature at a reduced price.
The ten-time European champions took a significant risk and, on this occasion, it backfired.
But it leaves Manchester United with an unhappy goalkeeper - and could be a difficult task for manager Louis van Gaal to get the Spain international motivated for the remainder of the season.
