Despite numerous reports linking French international striker Karim Benzema with a move away from the Bernabeu this summer, the Real Madrid frontman quickly quashed any lingering rumours regarding his future by revealing on social media his commitment to the cause.
In some ways, manager Rafael Benitez may see those rumours as a blessing in disguise as Benzema’s display in Saturday’s 5-0 romping home victory over Real Betis was one of a man intent of proving his value to Los Blancos.

The Frenchman’s goal was a clear reminder of the quality the he poses - quickly maneuvering himself into a position inside the box before rifling his shot beyond the Betis goalkeeper. Benzema will remain at the spearhead of the Madrid attack and could well be the key to a prolific season on all three fronts for Los Blancos.

Cristiano Ronaldo remains on the peripheral of his capabilities so far, but it is only a matter of time before we run out of superlatives to describe his performances again soon.
