Adnan Januzaj will return to Manchester United next summer for certain, as Borussia Dortmund have no option to buy him permanently from the Red Devils.
That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, who say that the Belgium international’s loan move is only to serve the purpose of giving him more game-time, not a way of removing him from the club’s books with a view to easing him out the door permanently.
Januzaj to Dortmund
Januzaj completed a season-long loan transfer to the Signal Iduna Park earlier this week, and could well make his debut for Dortmund following the international break.

Often lauded for his massive potential, the winger has struggled to impress so far under Louis van Gaal, and wasn’t given many opportunities at all last season.
As a result there were murmurs, growing louder across some fan bases, suggesting that he might be let go altogether, but Van Gaal has decided that Januzaj has a place in his plans yet.
Plans for the future
The 20-year-old is set to return to Manchester at the end of this season irrespective of how he fares in Thomas Tuchel’s setup, implying that he’ll at least have one more crack at the whip with regards to proving to Van Gaal he’s good enough for United.
His task is sure to be a difficult one if he doesn’t produce the eye-catching performances he’s capable of over the course of this campaign, however.
Van Gaal view
Van Gaal has bolstered his squad with plenty of attacking talent since his arrival - that's part of the reason Januzaj has been forced out on loan - and it’s been made abundantly clear that the 64-year-old doesn’t suffer fools.
