Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has confirmed that his former club AC Milan were 'desperate' to re-sign him over the summer.
The Swedish international was strongly linked with a move away from France, with several clubs interested in signing him, including his older employers from Italy.
Striker Leaving PSG
The 33-year-old is out of contract in Paris next summer, and with no intentions of extending his stay by signing a new deal, officials at the club were tempted to sell the striker this summer in order to gain some money from the sale.

Manager Laurent Blanc was also willing to sell-up so that the club raised funds, but after the window slammed shut yesterday, the Swede eventually ended up staying put.
Blanc prepared for the transfer away by pushing Edinson Cavani up front in the main striker role, but with Ibrahimovic now staying for a few more months at least, things may change at the Ligue 1 champions.

AC Milan Business
Speaking in a recent interview, the star-striker confirmed there was interest in his services from clubs, and admitted that AC Milan were 'desperate' to sign him before taking back another former player.
The Serie A side brought back Mario Balotelli on a season-long loan and Ibrahimovic has confirmed that decision was made after he snubbed a move back to the San Siro.
Ibra Reveals Interest
"[The interest] was concrete from their side," Ibrahimovic said.
"[There was] a lot of interest but I said from the beginning that I will stay with PSG. I like it, we have a good team, my family feel good and it’s just positive with Paris and PSG. But they wanted, they wanted much.
"I know that Milan were a bit desperate."
Ibrahimovic was linked with a shock move to Premier League side Arsenal during yesterday's transfer deadline day, but he also confirmed that a move to the Emirates Stadium was never a viable option.
He added: "No, so the interest that existed, I have not committed myself to.
"It is [agent] Mino [Raiola] who takes care of the pieces. When I give notice that I want something to happen I get involved. But this summer I have been resting up, I enjoyed the holiday.”
