Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is set to miss out on his side's trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on September 12.
This has been reported by the Mirror, who claim that the England international won't be able to recover in time for the Premier League showdown with the Red Devils after the international break.
It appears, then, according to the same report, that Sturridge won't return to full training until the end of the week, which doesn't give him enough time to prove his fitness in time for the match at the Theatre of Dreams.

In fact, the Mirror go on to claim that the striker may not return to first-team action until October as he's not yet ready to join in full contact sessions with his Liverpool teammates on the training ground.
There's no doubt about it, after the club's troubled start to the campaign, which saw them beaten on home soil against West Ham United in their last outing, they could do with Sturridge returning sooner rather than later.
And, if the striker manages to return to full fitness and rediscover his best form, then he could yet fire the Reds up the table, as they go in search on the domestic scene under Brendan Rodgers.
Ultimately, a striker pairing of Christian Benteke and Daniel Sturridge certainly could prove an exciting one for the Reds faithful, who will be desperate to see the latter produce the goods this season.
In truth, it's been a mixed start to Benteke's Anfield career, and he may well benefit from the potential return of Sturridge.
