Barwick: Capello committed to England

.
Football Association chief executive Brian Barwick is convinced Fabio Capello is totally committed to the England cause after the 61-year-old Italian was confirmed as Steve McClaren´s successor on Friday night.

With a contract until 2012, believed to be worth £6.5million a year but which is also thought to have a break clause after the 2010 World Cup, it is little wonder Capello announced his desire to coach England, although Barwick is in no doubt he has taken the job to restore England´s fortunes rather than just to line his pockets.

"Sir Trevor Brooking and I were left in no doubt of his passion and commitment to bring that success to the England team," said Barwick. "He is a winner and his record over the last two decades speaks for itself."
