On last night’s episode of SmackDown, the WWE reveal a new stable called the ‘Cosmic Wasteland’.

Welcome to the Cosmic Wasteland

The group was shown on last night’s SmackDown episode to include Stardust, and Konnor and Viktor of The Ascension.

The group was revealed when Konnor and Viktor attacked Neville, who was scheduled to wrestle against Stardust, during his entrance to the ring, so it looks like Stardust will be continuing his feud with Neville after their SummerSlam match.

Good pairing?

It will be interesting to see what kind of direction the WWE takes this new stable and how long they will stay together for. The Ascension haven’t really had the impact the WWE would have wanted on the WWE Universe so far since debuting on the main roster in December last year.

They’re likely to stay in a heel status as that’s how The Ascension and Stardust work best, and hopefully this stable will give them a good push going forward. On the face of it, it appears to be a perfect fit for both sides teaming up with one another.

It will also be interesting to see if the WWE uses this stable outside of Stardust’s feud with Neville. They could possibly go up against The New Day and other three-man tag teams, or even possibly The Wyatt Family in the future, but only if this new stable is packaged correctly. Keeping them as heels will be one way towards possible success for this new group.
