Real Madrid opt out of doing a late transfer deal with the Reds

Published Add your comment

Hello, Liverpool fans. Welcome to your daily roundup. Liverpool came close to letting Alberto Moreno leave for Real Madrid on transfer deadline day, but Los Blancos pulled out of a deal because Rafael Benitez decided he didn’t want him. That’s the word coming from Spanish newspaper AS, as relayed by the Liverpool Echo, who claim that Real might have made a bid for the left-back, before allowing the move to collapse. It remains to be seen whether or not he has a future at Anfield, having not started a game in Brendan Rodgers’ side yet this term following the arrival of Joe Gomez. From bad to worse, Daniel Sturridge won’t be back to full fitness in time for the clash against Manchester United. The Daily Mirror says the England striker isn’t going to be ready to feature at Old Trafford on September 12 despite the current international break. Got an opinion on any of the stories above?
