Stone Cold criticism
WWE legend Stone Cold Steve Austin has criticised the inclusion of actor Stephen Amell in last week’s SummerSlam pay-per-view.
Amell appeared alongside Neville to take on King Barrett and Stardust, but Austin revealed on his show that he didn’t like celebrities getting into the ring as it put the integrity of professional wrestling at risk.
Austin made the point at if the roles were reversed then the wrestlers would only have a cameo appearance in a film starring Amell. We have to say, he does have a point.
"I just don't like the celebrities coming in there, the squared circle, and being able to compete at any level with the guys in the [professional wrestling] business," Austin said, as per WrestlingInc.com.
"You've got to protect some integrity of the [professional wrestling] business. I don't care what day and age, what year it is."
"It was what it was, but I just got a hard time seeing that kid come off with that crossbody [block] on the top rope on two WWE guys down there [on the floor]."
Big double return?
In other news Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio are apparently open to shock returns to the WWE scene, despite both men having had long sabbaticals.
Mysterio hasn’t been with the company for six months, whereas Del Rio was fired after falling out with a social media manager who made a joke about his Mexican heritage.
Dallas' new move
Elsewhere Bo Dallas performed a cool new finisher during his recent match with R-Truth, one that looks to be a one-man version of the finisher used by La Resistance; Au Revoir.
Dallas has only recently been on WWE television after a long hiatus. His comeback was marked by a defeat to Brock Lesnar, who hit him with four German suplexes and an F5. Hard luck.
