Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has played down any suggestion the club´s manager Bernd Schuster has been offered the chance to replace Steve McClaren as England boss.

Spanish media recently claimed the Football Association had been looking at Schuster as a possible candidate, but Calderon is adamant there is nothing to report.

"Schuster has not received an offer from the English national team, although we would be proud to announce it if he had, but it is not true," Calderon told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser. "And even if he did receive one, I don´t think he would leave Real Madrid."
