The New York Giants released veteran punter Steve Weatherford this morning in preparation for the 2015 NFL season, and the Big Apple franchise have wasted little time in finding his replacement.
As reported by NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the NFC East team have traded with the Pittsburgh Steelers to bring in Australian, Brad Wing, as the team's new punter.
Wing went undrafted in 2013 out of LSU but spent the 2014 season with the Steelers. It is believed a late round draft pick is heading Pittsburgh's way as part of the deal.

Although Weatherford was a favorite amongst Giants fans, he was a member of the 2011 Super Bowl winning team after all, it appears that finances played a big role his departure, and the arrival of Wing.
The young Aussie punter is set to earn just $510,000 dollars in 2015. Compared to the $3.075 million due to be heading Weatherford's way, today's shake up gives the Giants increased breathing room when it comes to their salary cap.
Usually current roster members wouldn't bat an eyelid at the arrival of a new punter, however, for two New York Giants players, Brad Wing's arrival will be something of a reunion.
Like Wing, both Odell Beckham Jnr. and Reuben Randle played their college football at LSU before departing for the pros. Today's trade means there is something of a Bayou flair to the franchise heading into 2015.
Wing made 61 punts for Pittsburgh last season totalling 2,668 yards with a high of 74, however the Australian isn't averse to making headlines outside of his normal role.
As well as registering a horrible 29 yards punt against the Bucs in 2014, the 24-year-old also threw a pass for a two-point conversion versus the Ravens after a botched snap.
And, dating back to his days playing in Death Valley, Wing scored a sensational touchdown on a fake punt play only to see officials call it back for "excessive celebration."
