Raheem Sterling has trolled Liverpool fans on Instagram by posting a photo of himself and Manchester City teammate Fabian Delph alongside a caption which featured, you guessed it, a couple of snake emojis.
Sterling was labelled a “snake” by some Liverpool fans on social media after leaving the Reds for Manchester City this summer. Delph was called the same after leaving Aston Villa for the same club, shortly after telling fans he would be staying put at Villa Park.
Each time the pair post anything on social media, they receive a string of replies from aggrieved supporters either calling them a snake, or posting snake emojis.

With that in mind, Sterling thought he’d get in there first by posting a photo of himself and Delph on the plane to San Marino - ahead of this weekend’s Euro 2016 qualifier - alongside the caption: En route San Marino 🐍🐍✈️”
It prompted a mixed response from football fans. Some found it hilarious, which others - presumably those with connections to Liverpool and Aston Villa - simply posted more snake emojis.
Sterling shining at Manchester City
“Snakes on a Plane 3,” was one particularly amusing response from one Instagram user.
Sterling, 20, was not be regretting his decision to join Manchester City after an excellent start to his career at the Etihad Stadium.
The live-wire winger has scored one goal and provided one assist in his opening four Premier League matches for City, who sit top of the table with 12 points from a possible 12.
Delph, meanwhile, was unfortunate to suffer an injury in last month’s 2-0 win over Everton but will be looking to kick-start his Manchester City career after the international break.
