Victor Valdes won't be handed a Manchester United lifeline despite being named in their Premier League squad, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The report suggests that Valdes was only handed a place in the squad to comply with Premier League rules, so it appears that he won't be featuring for the Red Devils anytime soon.
The experienced Spanish goalkeeper, of course, has endured a torrid time in Manchester, having only featured for the first-team on two occasions since signing for the club on a free transfer back in January.

And, after falling out with United chief Louis van Gaal, it appears that there's no way back for him at the club.
In fact, Valdes hasn't been handed a squad number and wasn't included in Manchester United's Champions League squad for this season, so it looks set to be another tricky few months for the former Barcelona man.
He had to move on
At the end of the day, you have to feel that Valdes made a huge error by failing to move to a new club at the end of the transfer window. In truth, the whole saga appears to have been handled terribly.
What's the point in Valdes sitting on the sidelines? It just doesn't make sense for all involved. Surely he will move on for good in January, but stranger things have happened.
