Aberdeen captain Scott Severin hopes his side can shrug off their recent poor form and give big-spending Atletico Madrid a run for their money in Thursday´s UEFA Cup showdown.
Aberdeen go into the Group B match at the Vicente Calderon having lost 4-1 at Hearts and 3-0 at Celtic in their last two outings, to slip to seventh in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League standings.
"The last two results have been disappointing, and the goals we have conceded as well, and we know it is going to be really difficult (against Atletico)," Severin concedes. "But as long as we all stay as a unit and work for each other, then you never know on the night."
