Van Gaal wants England deal

Louis van Gaal hopes a deal can be found to enable him to take the position of England head coach.

The AZ Alkmaar boss has already expressed his interest in the job left vacant when Steve McClaren was sacked after England failed to qualify for Euro 2008.

Van Gaal is contracted with the Eredivisie club until 2009 - something he admits is an obstacle, however the 56 year old confirmed he would take the job if he was offered it, saying: "If I get that chance, I will take it. But I cannot leave AZ before 2009."
