Real Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic has poured cold water on reports Mahamadou Diarra will be sold during the winter transfer window.

Speculation in the Spanish media on Wednesday suggested Diarra, who only joined Real in the summer of 2006 for a fee thought to be around 26million euros (£17.7m) from Lyon, would be allowed to leave the Bernabeu in January.

However, Mijatovic insisted of the Mali international: "It is not true that Diarra is on the market, we are happy with him."
