Olivier Giroud was booed whilst on the pitch during France’s 2-1 win over Serbia last night, and the Arsenal star has admitted he will have to correct a few things.
The striker missed a number of good opportunities during the clash at the Stade Bordeaux Atlantique, and was then subbed off in favour of Karim Benzema.
After the clash Giroud said he knew he needed to improve, but since France are hosts at next year’s European Championships he won’t have many opportunities to do so competitively at international level until the tournament proper.
"Tonight I wasn't very efficient," he said, as per the Daily Star.
"It is like it is. I cannot focus too much on it.
"I have to think about the victory of the team and the good form we are currently experiencing," he said.
"We did well against Portugal and it is great to confirm with a second victory for the confidence.
"Everything was not perfect but we play well especially during the first half.
"I am going first, to enjoy our victory and then obviously I will have to correct a few things."
Elsewhere, Barcelona are looking to fill the void left by Pedro’s move to Chelsea, and one of the players they’ve considered is Theo Walcott.
It’s a bold claim, emanating from the Daily Mail, but perhaps having the England winger as a backup option to Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar isn’t all that ridiculous. Perhaps being the operative word.
Lastly, Arsenal are busy scouting Real Betis starlet Dani Ceballos ahead of a potential January purchase, but will face competition from Liverpool.
According to reports the Gunners are interested in the Spanish midfielder, and the fact that his contract runs out with Betis next summer means he’ll likely be available for a cut-price fee in January.
