Energie Cottbus coach Bojan Prasnikar has been assured his job is safe even if he fails to save the club from relegation.

The Slovenian took over from Petrik Sander in September and has earned only six points in as many games with the club still rooted to the bottom of the table but club president Ulrich Lepsch has given him his backing and announced he is the long-term future of the club.

"He is the right man for us, even if we are relegated," he told Kicker magazine.
