Garry O´Connor is confident Scotland can topple Italy and secure their place in the Euro 2008 finals - now they have recovered from the "shambles" of the Berti Vogts era.

Scotland are currently lying second in their group - a point behind France and one ahead of the Italians, who have a game in hand. But even if they fail to go through, the striker is adamant the qualifying campaign has been a success for Alex McLeish´s side.

"When I first got into the international scene, the training under Berti Vogts was sometimes a shambles," he said. "But now everyone is buzzing and fighting for each other, and we take that on to the pitch."
