Louis van Gaal told Manchester United fans at an event on Wednesday night that teenage striker James Wilson will be sent out on loan in the coming days.
This is according to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News, who understands Van Gaal revealed the news about Wilson on the same night he told supporters that Ryan Giggs will succeed him as manager in 2017.
The Daily Mail claim Wilson is heading to Championship outfit Derby County on loan, but Van Gaal's decision to offload yet another of his strikers is likely to concern Manchester United fans.

Since the end of last season, Robin van Persie, Radamel Falcao and Javier Hernandez have all left the Red Devils.
Meanwhile Adnan Januzaj, another player with the ability to play as a centre-forward, was surprisingly loaned to Borussia Dortmund for the season - although it's understood the Bundesliga giants have no option to sign the Belgium international on a permanent basis.
Van Gaal is taking a massive risk
If Wilson leaves, too, Manchester United will subsequently be left with Wayne Rooney and £36 million summer signing Anthony Martial as their only recognised strikers.
An injury to either - or worse, both - and the Red Devils will find themselves in big trouble as the season progresses, with the club competing in the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Capital One Cup this season.
Wilson would have been a useful option off the bench for Manchester United this season, but Van Gaal clearly feels it would benefit both the club and player if the England Under-21 international spends some time playing regularly in the Championship.
After failing to add to his strike-force over the summer, with the exception of the raw Martial, It could be a decision Van Gaal lives to regret.
