The roller-coaster ride that is life for a player in the National Football League has been perfectly summed up by goings on at the New York Giants over the past five days.
Less than 24 hours after being released by the Houston Texans on Saturday, nose tackle Louis Nix III thought he'd found a new team after the New York Giants picked him up off waivers come Sunday.
By Tuesday though, the 2014 third round draft pick was back on the wire after failing his Giants physical. That looked to be the end of any potential roster spot for Nix in NYC. Until now.

As reported by NJ.com, the New York Giants actually re-signed Louis Nix III on Wednesday afternoon - brining to an end the drama hopefully once and for all.
It is unclear just what changed between Tuesday and Wednesday regarding the former Notre Dame standout's physical health, but whatever it is that was causing concern doesn't appear to be bothering New York any longer.
Perhaps it was the Giants' need at defensive tackle that led them to reconsider their decision to send Nix packing. Head coach Tom Coughlin told the media on Wednesday that the franchise were still searching for an addition at the position.
A lot to prove
Even though he has his regained his spot on the Giants roster, Nix still has a lot to do to convince people that he is capable of competing on the gridiron.
The youngster missed his entire rookie season with knee and hand injuries and the events of the last five days will hardly convince those looking from the outside in that he is ready to contribute early on in 2015.
Still, at least this official tweet from the New York Giants is no longer void:
