Matteo Darmian has been announced as Manchester United's Player of the Month for August.
As reported by the club's official site, Darmian, who joined the Red Devils from Italian outfit Torino this past summer, secured 42 percent of the votes as thousands of Manchester United fans voted for their Player of the Month.
Ultimately, the right-back beat the duo of Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw, who received 35 percent and 23 percent of the votes, respectively.

The trio, of course, all played key roles at the back for the Red Devils throughout August, with Louis van Gaal's side securing three clean sheets from their opening three Premier League fixtures.
United did, however, concede twice as they were beaten at the hands of Swansea City before the international break, but it's Darmian who has been nominated as the club's standout player of the month.
Of course, before the start of the campaign, the majority of Manchester United fans were extremely excited about watching the likes of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Memphis Depay ply their trade for the club, but Darmian has quickly become a fans' favourite in Manchester.
Ultimately, the Italian international has quickly settled to life at Old Trafford, and will no doubt continue to prove his credentials on a consistent basis for the club.
With Darmian and Shaw starring down the flanks, Red Devils chief Louis van Gaal now has two fine full-backs at his disposal. United fans will be hoping for another solid performance from Darmian and Co. against Liverpool on Saturday.
