As the New York Giants prepare to begin their 2015 NFL season, uncertainty surrounding their star defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul continues to reign supreme behind the scenes.
Since being involved in a fireworks incident over Independence Day weekend, JPP had avoided the Giants franchise for all of the offseason. So, when he finally met with the organization last week, it looked like things were heading in the right direction.
But, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano, the meeting actually revealed Pierre-Paul's hand injury is even more severe than originally feared.

"One source said that, in addition to the missing right index finger, fractured thumb and skin grafts — injuries suffered in a July 4 fireworks accident — a portion of one of the other fingers on Pierre-Paul’s right hand is missing."
The revelation that JPP is missing more than just one finger has reportedly left some in the Giants franchise believing that Pierre-Paul will be forced to miss the entire 2015 season.
Considering the player himself was confident that he would return sooner rather than later after the dramatic injury, it looks like there is an air of uncertainty around the franchise just now.
What's more, although the Giants were impressed by JPP's physical condition aside from the hand issue when they met with his, the sheer unknown of such a unique injury means the Giants remain as much in the dark as everybody else.
Unfortunately for their fans, last week's meeting only seems to have exacerbated that feeling.
