John Cena had his shot at claiming the WWE title, a title that would have been his record-equaling 16th, when he went up against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.
But, having lost out to the former Shield member in the pay-per-view's Winner Takes All match, Cena now looks like he will have to wait a long time before he gets another shot.
That's because, according to F4WOnline.com, while the WWE do plan on giving Cena another Heavyweight championship title run, they won't do so until deep into 2016.

Per their report, the WWE have their minds set on getting Roman Reigns (their former golden boy) his first WWE Heavyweight title before they will let John Cena make history.
"The idea is for him to tie Ric Flair's 16 reigns, but before that happens WWE wants to put the title around Roman Reigns first, F4WOnline.com reports."
With Roman Reigns having worked himself back into the favor of much of the WWE Universe after a difficult early 2015 - his Royal Rumble victory led to boos that continued intermittently for months - the WWE's plan makes sense.
He is now more worthy of a shot at the title, and by 2016 he should be primed for a big run at the belt.
But don't rule out John Cena altogether. Although Reigns might enjoy some time at the top early in 2016 it looks like, at this stage, the WWE hierarchy are planning for Cena to be the man to take the title from Reigns - tying Ric Flair in the process.
