Gordon Strachan avoided the subject of Benfica in the run-up to the Old Firm clash but there will be no escaping the importance of Wednesday´s C1hampions League clash in Portugal.

For Celtic, whose record in the Champions League away from Parkhead shows one draw and 13 defeats in 14 trips, it is another chance to relieve themselves of the heavy burden which that sequence of results imposes.

And 12 months on from a dismal night in Lisbon, Strachan´s modern-day young lions have the chance to bury the memories of the 3-0 defeat they suffered at the Estadio da Luz.
