The Atlanta Falcons hung on to secure a 26-24 win over the Philadelphia Eagles last night, and, as is so often the case, it was Julio Jones who proved decisive for the Georgia franchise.
Racking up 141 yards and two touchdowns, the star wide receiver was virtually unplayable for much of the Monday Night Football contest - a fact new Eagles cornerback Byron Maxwell learnt to his cost.
Indeed, the former Seahawks star's reaction upon hearing Jones' monstrous stat line pretty much sums up the helpless feeling he must have had out on the gridiron.

Having been burnt all night by the Pro Bowl receiver, Maxwell's reaction in the locker room after the game is unusual to say the least:
Laughing at such a disappointing display may have felt, to Maxwell, like the only thing left to do. However, it isn't exactly the best way to adhere yourself to a new fan base.
Coming off the back of a tight defeat, Philadelphia Eagles fans were not quite as quick to see the funny side of being cut open quite so easily, and often, by Jones and the Falcons.

The rest of the NFL meanwhile? They were more than happy to enjoy the apparent mismatch.
Although Maxwell and the Eagles won't come up against receivers of the calibre of Julio Jones every week, Philadelphia will have expected more from their big-money offseason arrival.
The cornerback signed a $10.5 million deal with the Eagles this offseason and was seen by many as the answer to Philly's troubles in the secondary.
