Liverpool hero Dietmar Hamann is '99% sure' that former Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp would have taken the top job at Anfield before the start of the season.
With Reds chief Brendan Rodgers under growing pressure at Anfield, Klopp's name has been thrown into the hat as a potential successor.
As reported by the London Evening Standard, Hamann has, however, suggested that he's not sure whether Klopp would be interested in taking over at Anfield during the campaign.

"The pressure in Liverpool gets bigger," Hamann said.
"The fans are on the barricades. But the coach is backed by the club, and anyway the question is: Would Klopp move there during the season?
"Had they asked before the season, I am 99 percent sure that he would have joined them. Many people say that he will take over Bayern on July 1, 2016, but I don't know whether he's a fit there.
"He'd be a great fit at Liverpool."
Rodgers has it all to prove
Let's be honest, it's not getting any easier for Rodgers at Anfield. After the club were humiliated at the hands of Stoke City on the final day of last season, it was expected that he would move on before the beginning of this campaign.
Ultimately, Rodgers has it all to do on Merseyside as he goes in search of proving his critics wrong. After last weekend's disappointing showing at Old Trafford against Manchester United, the Reds must improve sooner rather than later.
The return of Daniel Sturridge would most definitely prove a welcome boost for the Liverpool boss. A partnership of Sturridge and summer signing Christian Benteke in attack should excite the club's faithful, who will be desperate to see their side secure a victory in France against Bordeaux on Thursday evening.
