Rafael Benitez makes big claim about Gerrard's Liverpool comments

Published 2 Comments

Steven Gerrard might be actively destroying relationships and burning bridges by way of revealing all with his new book ‘My Story’, but former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has claimed his old pupil is merely trying to sell copies. Gerrard had said that he got the feeling Benitez hadn’t liked him as a person during the pair’s time together at Anfield, but the Spaniard rubbished such a notion. Benitez implied the only reason Gerrard had made the comments was because he is now Real Madrid manager and he’s bought a book out. It sells, he said. Finishing off we turn to another claim made by Gerrard, one that suggests Philippe Coutinho could well follow Luis Suarez to Barcelona one day. The ex-Liverpool captain said that the Brazilian playmaker could be targeted by the Catalans or their Spanish rivals Real Madrid in years to come. Liverpool fans will certainly hope he’s wrong.
