This past Monday, we saw Nikki Bella retain the Divas title in a controversial match against Charlotte - the victory meaning the star has now held the title for longer than previous record-holder, AJ Lee.
However, with many WWE fans unhappy with the way Nikki has been able to reach the milestone, there have been accusations in the media that her boyfriend, John Cena, had a hand in the decision.
Now, in what appears to be a response to the accusations, Cena has taken to social media to condemn such reports. The cryptic tweet can be seen below.

Although Cena doesn't directly address the controversial reports that claimed he insisted on Nikki retaining the title, the timing of the message, and its subject matter, haven't gone unnoticed by the WWE Universe.
You wouldn't put it past John Cena using his considerable reputation to influence the WWE creative team, but, considering events of the recent past, it isn't like the WWE were lacking motivation for keeping Nikki Bella in control of the title belt.
Indeed, there have long been suggestions that Nikki would surpass AJ Lee's record so that the WWE could begin erasing the now-departed star from the company.
With reports today suggesting the WWE has plans for Roman Reigns to beat CM Punk's record of 434 days with the top male title, it looks like the organization is half way to achieving their goal - with or without John Cena's help.
