Many fans thought they would never see Sting in a WWE ring. He had too many loyalties to WCW and was part of the organisation from it's beginnings in the late 1980s until it was purchased by the WWE in 2001.
Even when WCW was bought by WWE, Sting refused to wrestle and most notably went on to join TNA.
When Sting was asked if he thought he would ever sign with the WWE, he said: “Quite honestly, I never thought it would happen, that I’d be in the WWE, but here I am. Whether I was right or wrong, I made a decision to stay with another group that came to the table with everything I was asking for.
"I stayed apart from WWE, and I was fine. This year, I figured it was time.”
It's almost been a year since Sting signed and made his first appearance in the WWE at last year's Survivor Series pay-per-view. Since then, he has wrestled in two matches. A loss to Triple H at WrestleMania 31, and a victory against Seth Rollins and The Big Show on Monday Night Raw this week when he partnered up with John Cena.
Sting will be looking to find back-to-back victories and also win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship this weekend against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions.
