Steven Gerrard blasts this Arsenal player

Published Add your comment

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard gave a frank assessment of Arsenal’s midfield, after the Gunners lost to Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League opener on Wednesday. Gerrard, in his role as a BT Sport pundit, claimed the combination of Mikel Arteta, Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil produced a ‘weak’ performance as Arsenal went down 2-1. The LA Galaxy midfielder, also blamed Olivier Giroud for getting himself sent off during the first half of what transpired to be a frustrating evening for the north London club. Gerrard’s focus will now turn to Liverpool, who return the Europa League this season and face Bordeaux on Thursday evening. Liverpool are in desperate need of a morale boosting victory follow successive Premier League defeats, and Brendan Rodgers is expected to ring the changes in France.
