Bayern Munich will be without number one goalkeeper Oliver Kahn for their UEFA Cup first-round decider with Belenenses on Thursday night.

The 38-year-old missed Bayern´s 1-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen at the weekend after complaining of elbow pain during the pre-match warm-up, and the injury has since worsened.

He needs an operation to correct the problem and will be out of action for up to a month, leaving Michael Rensing with an opportunity to prove his worth between the sticks.
