Neymar's father insists the Brazilian will not be leaving Barcelona any time soon and is happy with the terms of his current deal.

The 23-year-old was linked with a move to Manchester United over the summer, but the Catalan club moved quickly to quash any rumours of a transfer.

There have also been reports that interest from the Red Devils has caused the Barca man to seek a new deal at the Camp Nou.

"We don't need to reach an agreement with Barcelona because he has three years left on his contract. The club doesn't need to sit down with Neymar for a contract renewal."

Manchester United were reportedly prepared to sanction a world-record bid for the South American star and still hold faint hope of landing him next year. However, their chances seem remote after Neymar senior's latest remarks.

The Brazil international has become a fans favourite at the Blaugrana and is a vital cog in the world's most fearsome attacking trio.

Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi combined for 122 goals last season and helped Barcelona to an emphatic treble.

Playing among the best players in world football and at one of the best clubs, it is hard to find a reason Neymar would ever turn his back on the 23-time La Liga winners.
