Mario Balotelli may have started a new career away from Liverpool, with AC Milan but it seems as though he's still searching for the same thing - love.

The Italian ace ended a disastrous spell at Anfield in the summer following his £16 million switch last year, and the 25-year-old made his second competitive debut for Milan in their 1-0 defeat against fierce rivals Inter on Sunday.

The striker was in a more contemplative mood than usual last night and took to Twitter to reveal his innermost feelings.

Writing in Italian, the former Manchester City man posted: "What did I do wrong that I can’t find true love in a couple?"

Balotelli has had a high-profile relationship with Fanny Neguesha and was engaged to her at one point, only for things to come to an abrupt end earlier this year.

Seemingly aware that his introspection was drawing some attention, the former Liverpool man posted a follow up 'LOL', before adding: "Don't take everything so seriously guys."

Fortunes

Despite offloading Balotelli, Liverpool haven't seen an upturn in fortunes and they suffered a 3-1 defeat against fierce rivals Manchester United, which came on the back of a damaging loss against West Ham before the international break.

They'll be hoping for better luck against Norwich on Sunday, while Balotelli will feature for Milan in their game against Palermo tomorrow.

Is signing Balotelli Liverpool's worst ever transfer?
