Cristiano Ronaldo will be the subject of a world record transfer bid from Paris Saint-Germain after the French champions failed to recruit the Real Madrid icon during the recently closed summer window.
Ronaldo has long been linked with a move to PSG, speculation made easier given the vast reserves made available by the club’s Qatari owners, and it would seem they are serious about bringing he Portuguese to the Parc des Princes.
Duncan Castles, writing in the Sunday Times, has the inside track on the latest development in this story, claiming that Real Madrid can expect an offer of over £100 million come the next transfer period.

It is reported that PSG had an £87.3 million proposal knocked back by Florentino Perez this past summer, but are now ready to return with a new £109.2 million offer. If accepted it would, once again, make Ronaldo the most expensive player in history.
The report adds that the total cost of the suggested deal would exceed £250 million, with PSG committed to paying Ronaldo more than a current £15 million-per-year salary over the course of his contract.
This news will likely act as a wake-up call to Manchester United - and Ed Woodward in particular - given claim that they too have recently attempted to sign Ronaldo from Real Madrid. Manchester United supporters would unquestionably love to see him return to Old Trafford.
But it remains to be seen if Madrid would entertain the prospect of selling Ronaldo. Perez has maintained Ronaldo would only depart if his release clause - which is almost £800 million - was met.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, shows no signs of any dip in form now he is aged 30, with the player having scored eight goals in four days only last week. His importance to Madrid remains undoubted, and the prospect of a departure would be unfathomable to the club’s enormous global fan base.
