NAC Breda climbed to fifth spot in the Eredivisie standings on Friday night courtesy of an efficient 3-1 win at VVV Venlo.

Anthony Lurling gave the visitors the lead in the opening minute and Patrick Zwaanswijk doubled their advantage midway through the second half.

NAC were then reduced to 10 men when Ronnie Stam saw red for a second bookable offence, and VVV made their extra man pay immediate dividends when Edwin Linssen halved the deficit with eight minutes remaining.
