WWE video games are always a highly-anticipated part of the year for wrestling fans, with the chance to compete as your favorite performers a huge attraction.
WWE 2K16 in particular, has received a great deal of attention, due to it being heralded as having the biggest roster in the long history of the WWE games franchise.
However, there is one group of performers that will be absent from this expansive roster that has proven a significant point of contention in the gaming community. Despite being a major part of 2015, the key names behind the Divas Revolution will not be involved in WWE 2K16.

Whilst rarely-featured main roster divas such as Cameron, Eva Marie and Summer Rae are included in the 120+ characters, NXT stalwarts Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch and Bayley miss out.
Furthermore, WWE 2K16 developers 2K Sports have confirmed that they will also not be made available as DLC anytime soon.
Here is the statement in full about this controversy by 2K Sports, according to Wrestling Inc:
"With our final roster reveal this past Monday, it was awesome seeing the excitement for The New Day, Enzo and Cass, Mikey Whipwreck, and more. But it was clear that some in the community are frustrated by the lack of the newer Divas added to the main WWE roster recently.
"We pushed as hard as we could to include Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, and Bayley in WWE 2K16, but it simply did not work out for various reasons. While we are not divulging full details on WWE 2K16's post-launch plans just yet, we can confirm that the Four Horsewomen will not be available as DLC.
"We are proud to have and built the largest WWE roster to date featuring the most Divas ever. The WWE 2K16 disc includes all of the Divas on the main roster at the time we locked it in (13 playable in total).
"We all agree the Divas Revolution is great for business and look forward to celebrating the Divas even more in future WWE 2K titles."
This is extremely disappointing, as the Four Horsewomen of NXT have reinvigorated interest in women's wrestling with a flurry of outstanding matches in the past two years.
Numerous other NXT superstars such as Finn Balor, Hideo Itami and Tyler Breeze are included, so it is a shame not to have the most popular four women in NXT involved, especially after Charlotte, Banks and Lynch were promoted to the main roster.
Obviously, with the return of the creative suites, it will not take long for gamers to create these four ladies for the community to download and enjoy. Still, this really should have been a feature of the game to attract customers, and there is no question all four of these excellent divas should be in WWE 2K16.
Whatever hurdles proved too insurmountable to include them in the roster will hopefully not happen in later installments of WWE games, as this is a glaring oversight that should never be replicated.
