Liverpool supporters washing their hands of Mario Balotelli have been given cause to complain this morning, after it was claimed that the Reds are still funding £60,000-a-week of the Italian’s wages. Balotelli is currently on loan with AC Milan, but it’s now emerged that he didn’t take a pay-cut to force through the transfer, despite Liverpool having initially maintained their stance that they wouldn’t be financing his move. The Mirror report that Liverpool could end up paying £30million thanks to Balotelli’s failure to settle at Anfield, with the wages adding to the £16m it cost the club to originally buy him from Milan in 2014. To say the stats are damning is an understatement considering he contributed just the one Premier League goal last year. In other news forward Divock Origi could be sent on another loan, after doing little to impress this season with the opportunities he’s had. It’s claimed his immediate future will hinge on the fitness of Daniel Sturridge.
