Roma banished the memory of one of the darkest nights in their history by beating Dynamo Kiev 2-0.

When the sides clashed in the 2004/05 campaign at the Stadio Olimpico, Swedish referee Anders Frisk was hit by a coin thrown from the stands as he walked off at half-time. Dynamo, who were leading 1-0, were awarded a 3-0 victory while the Giallorossi were banned from having spectators at two of their subsequent Champions League games.

There were no such troubles for the Italians on or off the pitch this time as goals from Simone Perrotta and Francesco Totti ensured they got their Group F campaign off to a winning start.
