Mike Dean has been given the all-clear to continue in the Premier League despite calls for the experienced referee to be suspended from duty.
Arsenal fans, as well as a number of pundits, believe Dean should have been at least reprimanded by the Football Association for his failure to control the players in Chelsea's win over the Gunners on Saturday.
The official failed to spot Diego Costa pushing Laurent Koscielny in the face before sending Gabriel Paulista off for kicking out at the Blues striker.
With the game delicately poised at 0-0, the decision had a huge effect on the eventual result and Arsene Wenger was quick to criticise Dean, calling him "naive" for his decision to let Costa continue playing.
But the FA do not believe his performance was worthy of punishment and have announced that Dean will take charge of West Ham's game against Norwich this coming weekend.
Arsenal fans are unhappy with the FA's decision and many chose to show their discontent by sending a clear message their official Twitter account.
Here are some of the best:
The more creative Gooners have started a petition on Change.org to stop Dean refereeing an Arsenal game ever again. As of writing, over 70,000 incensed fans have signed it.
Costa has since been charged by the FA and could face a ban of up to three games if found guilty of violent conduct. Television footage clearly shows Costa slapping Koscielny, which eventually led to Gabriel reacting how he did.
Arsenal have launched an appeal against the red card given to Gabriel and are at least hoping to get his automatic three-game ban reduced to two. If successful, the Brazilian defender would return to action in time for the Gunners game against Manchester United.
