With the continual growth of NXT, fans are always wondering how their favorite NXT stars would fare against the stars of the main roster.

We have seen a couple of match-ups already takes place, with both Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens taking on then-United States Champion, John Cena.

More fantasy match-ups like these probably won’t take place any time soon. Plus, even if they did the fans would argue that the NXT stars would be buried, so the main roster stars look strong.

That’s a reason a lot of fans don’t want to see these types of matches and feuds.

If we take all of that out of the equation and focus on the match-ups themselves, along with the build-up, the promos and the reactions from the fans; there are plenty of great fantasy matches that can be booked.

Here are five of the many matches I believe the NXT and WWE fans would enjoy.

SETH ROLLINS VS. SAMI ZAYN

It would be fantastic to see Rollins and Zayn go at it again.

Having competed as Tyler Black and El Generico during their clash at PWG, it would be huge for both men to come full circle and compete in a main event match on the main roster.

It does prove to be the perfect match-up. They both boast incredible talent inside of the ring and the match would be capable of main eventing any show on the WWE calendar.

Rollins’ innovative offense against Sami’s incredible aerial ability would leave the fans wanting more.

Not only that, Rollins as the ultimate, cowardly heel going up against the ultimate face in Zayn would be the perfect match-up.

The fans will be split in their support for both superstars.

DOLPH ZIGGLER VS. TYLER BREEZE

This is a feud that definitely needs to happen one day.

Tyler Breeze has drawn comparisons to Ziggler for quite some time now, so it only seems fitting that the two battle it out at some point down the line.

Their in-ring styles definitely complement each other, they can both sell moves like no other, so any potential matches between the two could be highly entertaining.

The promo work in a feud would also be fantastic. They both have interesting gimmicks which could translate well on-screen and definitely keep the fans interested.

DANIEL BRYAN VS. HIDEO ITAMI

We’ve already seen the two go at it before, as Bryan Danielson and KENTA, but it would be a huge treat for fans to see them battle it out inside a WWE ring.

Maybe the promo aspect of a potential feud wouldn’t be the best, Bryan will rely on his massive fan base whilst the language barrier is an issue for Itami.

Regardless of that, fans all over the world will want to tune in to see Bryan take on Itami.

It’s definitely one for the independent fans that want to see some of the best technical wrestling in the world.

Their in-ring styles match each other very well, and it’s scary just imagining the reaction after the two conclude a match inside of a WWE ring.

SOLOMON CROWE VS. DEAN AMBROSE

Another one for the independent fans.

The main roster fans may not be too familiar with Solomon Crowe, but he is a very special talent. He isn’t doing the best of things on NXT right now, but bad booking always plays a part.

If we assume Crowe is on top of the world, then a feud and matches with Ambrose would be fantastic.

The key thing to make this work would be to relive the history the two have. They were partners at CZW as The Switchblade Conspiracy and I feel like Crowe would be a great opponent for Ambrose.

Reliving the history and using that creates emotion, which will help Ambrose continue as the huge face he is, and it would be helpful for Crowe too. It would allow him to enter as a top heel.

It’s also a good way to introduce him to the main roster. His gimmick allows him to do different things and mixing with a fellow crazy superstar; the fans will definitely love this.

They’re both crazy. They can do great things on the microphone and inside of the ring and neither man is afraid to put their body on the line.

NEW DAY VS. ENZO AMORE AND BIG CASS

If we’re looking at an NXT vs. main roster tag team feud, then look no further than Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. The New Day.

They are two of the hottest tag teams in the WWE today and it’s definitely a fantasy feud that could easily be made into a reality.

We all know what the New Day are capable of. They’re winners, they’re entertaining and they know what they have to do to remain relevant and fresh on a weekly basis.

Enzo and Big Cass are in a similar boat.

They successfully entertain the fans every single week they are on screen, and matches between the teams will be a lot of fun for the fans to watch.

The key thing here is the microphone work. All of them can entertain on their own, so by combining them together the fans would be in for a treat.

The promos alone would be enough to sell a match, and you can be sure that the WWE will look to have this feud take place sooner rather than later.

The fantasy booking doesn’t end there though. Fans have called for Samoa Joe to take on Brock Lesnar, and Finn Balor to take on Bray Wyatt – the possibilities are endless.
