Sir Alex's world-class players
One would be forgiven for thinking that Sir Alex Ferguson regularly had world-class players at his disposal whilst in charge of Manchester United.
Forgiven, but sadly wrong. According to the man himself he only ever had four stars of the very highest calibre; Messrs Eric Cantona, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Cristiano Ronaldo.
There’s no room for the likes of David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy or indeed any of the other ground-breaking talents Ferguson utilised at Old Trafford. Fans will likely have some sort of opinion on that.
Ronaldo's new challenge
In other news, United are on high alert as Cristiano Ronaldo is looking for a new challenge - of course he is.
Somewhat difficult-to-digest reports from the Daily Mirror claim that the superstar forward is prepared to leave the Santiago Bernabeu next summer, with United perhaps in a position to take advantage. £70m is the guestimated fee needed - but we’re willing to call the Mirror’s bluff on that one.
Last but not least, Keylor Navas has revealed how he cried when his move to Old Trafford this summer broke down.
The Costa Rica international was intended to be moving to Manchester as part of the deal that would see David de Gea head the other way. Said transfer broke down, however, and, as a result, he was left somewhat in the lurch.
