Will Brendan Rodgers do this to save his Liverpool career?

Published 1 Comments

Brendan Rodgers is currently heading the bookies table of Premier League managers most likely to be sacked.

Since arriving at the club in June 2012, Rodgers made some progress with a team in transition, resulting in a Premier League runners-up spot in the 2013/2014 season.

The teams form, unfortunately, has dipped considerably since then, which has resulted in a recent upsurge in odds he will be removed by his employees soon.

A 1-1 draw against Norwich at Anfield on Sunday, did little to reduce these odds, but Rodgers can lift his players with the knowledge their next three games are very winnable.

Two key players that should be given starting opportunities must be Danny Ings and Philippe Coutinho.

Ings and Coutinho

Firstly, Coutinho needs more confidence, so the next three games will help him in this area of his game considerably. He's a real talent and given the opportunity over the next week or so, that should shine through.

With Ings, he has certainly turned the managers head and his finish showed both great technique and killer instinct - something Liverpool are much in need of right now.

Clock ticking

If reports in the media are to be believed, the owners of the club are not looking to review the management situation at least until November.

Brendan Rogers will hope he can turn the fortunes of his team around and put any negative issues surrounding his future, firmly behind him.
