One of the biggest questions asked prior to WWE's Night of Champions pay-per-view event this past Sunday was who was going to team up with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
There was a whole host of names circulating in the run up to the event, with the likes of The Rock, Daniel Bryan and Kane being favoured.
Much to the surprise of the WWE Universe, however, with Reigns and Ambrose in the ring alongside their opponents; The Wyatt Family, none other than Chris Jericho's music hit.

In a night which held several questionable decisions, this was one WWE certainly got right. The crowd reaction when Jericho emerged as well as the look on the other professional wrestlers' faces proved just that.
As well as this, WWE's impressive ideas seem set to continue as Y2J's shoulder barge on Dean Ambrose following their sides' loss suggests we could be in for an interesting angle between these two WWE superstars.

Reported by Cageside Seats, Ambrose was visibly upset at the fact Jericho cos his team the match against The Wyatts, stating: "It was going great. We were this close. We had that big black sheep Strowman rocked. We had that Strowman on his ass. Everything was going to plan until glory hound Y2J comes in... that's fine. He's my call, that's fine. Do what you do, man. Don't big league me in the ring."
It is likely this result as well as Ambrose's post-match anger will set up a feud between him and Jericho, with the latter's schedule freed up as his band Fozzy is not on tour again until November.
In addition, Jericho is also being advertised for the WWE special event at Madison Square Garden on October 3rd, which suggests we could see a lot more of him over the next month or so.
This is a wise move by WWE. Jericho is and has always been a crowd favourite and can be utilised in so many ways while carrying off just what the company need him to do.
Jericho will celebrate his 45th Birthday in November but with his persona and in-ring talent, he has made it clear he can still fit in so well with the likes of the previous members of The Shield.
When exactly the Ambrose-Jericho angle will be pushed has not yet been made clear but just over a month is not a lot of time to promote something which could be brilliant.
With this in mind, Cageside Seats has said the storyline may well be addressed next year, with a possible view to WrestleMania 32 in mind.
However and whenever the company chooses to book Chris Jericho, he will certainly please the WWE Universe and often provoke a reaction similar to that which he received on Sunday night at the Toyota Center in Texas.
