Fan who jumped the barricade at WWE Night of Champions sentenced to ten days in jail

Published 1 Comments

The fan that jumped into the ring before the clash of Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Chris Jericho against The Wyatt Family at Night of Champions has been sent to jail.

The fan in question, 37-year-old Oscar Ramirez, jumped into the ring and posed as the mystery partner for Reigns and Ambrose before he was tackled to the ground by WWE security. While the fan did look the part in his Shield costume, Jericho was later revealed as the real mystery partner.

The next day, WWE published a statement saying although fans who get involved in WWE programming only received a lifetime ban from WWE events in the past, they will now be prosecuting fans moving forward to the full extent of the law.

Bryan Alvarez stated on Wrestling Observer Live, according to NoDQ, that the fan who jumped the barrier and evaded the ring at Night of Champions is now serving ten days in jail for the incident. However, according to Wrestling Inc, if the case had gone to trial and he was found guilty, he could have faced one-and-a-half years behind bars.

Jericho, one of the wrestlers involved in the incident, commented on recent proceedings saying on his Twitter account: "So the jackass who jumped in the ring at #nightofchampions got sentenced to jail time. Let this be a lesson to all…stay out of OUR ring!"

Whether or not this punishment now is WWE's way of cracking down on these incidences occurring in the future is yet to be seen. WWE could bring in some even more ways to beat this recent problem of fans jumping over barriers and attempting to get in contact with talent during a show.

Either way, someone at WWE security has to be fired for allowing all these recent incidences to happen, just like the former head of WWE security, Jimmy Noonan, said only last week. No word of this happening is yet to come out of the WWE though.

WWE Fans: How can the WWE stop incidences like this from happening in the future? And have you ever seen one live? Have your say and leave a comment below...
