It is difficult to imagine Liverpool fans finding some common ground with Mario Balotelli. The Italian striker has cost their club a huge amount of money and offered only trouble in return.

But it seems they can agree on one thing: they both want Brendan Rodgers out of Anfield. That is, of course, if Balotelli's Instagram activity is to be taken as gospel, which it is.

Currently in the safe haven of the San Siro, where he has spent most of his career with Inter and AC Milan, Balotelli felt no fear in liking a controversial post by a prominent Liverpool fan.

Accompanied with the hashtag #RodgerOut, the post lists Rodgers' achievements at both Swansea City and Liverpool, suggesting his highlight at Anfield was getting Balotelli to defend a corner kick.

Balotelli saw the post and saw that it was good. He hit the like button without hesitation and now we are writing stories about it. It is a glorious world to live in.

Fans in agreement

Having seen their team scrape past Carlisle in an embarrassing performance in the League Cup on Wednesday night, Rodgers is surely hanging by a thread.

Even before the game had kicked off, a poll of almost 13,000 votes showed that 65 per cent of Liverpool supporters no longer had faith in the Irishman. We imagine that after their 1-1 draw with a League Two side, that percentage has only grown higher.
