Brazil international defender Daniel Alves has pledged to continue giving his all for Sevilla after seeing his hopes of a move to one of Europe´s glamour clubs dashed.

Alves made no secret of his desire to further his career away from the Andalusian club this summer, and both Real Madrid and Chelsea were closely linked with moves for the highly-rated Brazilian full-back. But Friday night´s transfer deadline came and went without any deal being struck for the 24-year-old.

"I had the intention of leaving because I had a great opportunity to set up the rest of my life, which is my priority. I have people I have to take care of," said Alves. "I am going to try and continue showing the professional attitude which I have done, although it will be difficult because I have lost a unique opportunity."
