If you’re a die-hard Manchester United fan you’ll probably be aware of rumours suggesting Louis van Gaal made an effort to sign Thomas Muller this summer.
Well, German publication Bild have taken things one step further this morning, speculating that United made a colossal bid of £65million for the Bayern Munich star towards the end of the summer transfer window.
The offer was turned down by the Bundesliga giants, who seemingly value Muller at far more than that given fee.
Sagnol on Martial
Meanwhile, Bordeaux manager Willy Sagnol has claimed he was told bad things about young United forward Anthony Martial when he called the striker up to the France U21 squad earlier in his career.
Sagnol revealed that he had been questioned for calling up Martial, who completed a blockbuster transfer to Old Trafford earlier this summer. The youngster has now scored four goals in four games since moving to United.
Lewandowski's agent quotes
To finish up, we’ve got a relatively interesting statement made by the agent of Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski.
The Pole’s chief representative, Cezary Kucharski, told how he had a plan for the striker’s future, but effectively ruled out a move to Manchester because of the weather. It’s not clear if he was speculating over United or rivals Man City, but it’s interesting all the same.
